Social Media and Excellence Challenge at Lighthouse

Four students from Yarra Valley Grammar in Ringwood were hosted by the Lighthouse Foundation - a remarkable, caring organization in Richmond. Their Vision is that every child will live in a family environment, within a community that fosters trust and love, and supports young people to grow and develop holistically.

Many thanks to Emily Mason and Fergal Coleman who facilitated and mentored the students.

The students were given the challenge to develop a comprehensive social media plan and associated policy for use by Lighthouse. The plan outlined how to develop their use of social media and use avenues such as Facebook, twitter and blogs to their potential.

The outstanding young students greatly impressed their host with the work they put into their project with recommendations suggesting that with the centralisation of social media, lobbying Government, and developing a diverse media strategy that the Lighthouse Foundation could ultimately lead the industry with their Therapeutic Model of Care.
